How Can I Request A Custom Design For My T-Shirt / Garment?

How To Request A Custom Design For My T-Shirt Or Garment

how can i request a custom design for my t-shirt / garment?

what are the ways to request a custom design t-shirt / garment?

There are three main ways that you can order a custom t-shirt, and we will review them in a second. They are not hard to do so don’t worry if technology is not really your strong point. Having said this, here are three of the ways you can request a custom t-shirt or garment:

  1. The simplest way is to go to our Custom section in our store, there you will find many templates with different texts and fonts, even with some graphics that you can change for your own. This one is pretty straightforward and doesn’t need much explanation, so let’s go to the next one.
  2. Another way is to choose any of our articles from our store, you will find a „Personalize” button in each one of them, where you can customize them by submitting your custom design or whatever you want to be printed on said t-shirt or garment.
  3. The third way is the most complicated but best way to request a t-shirt with your custom design on it, basically, you personally request us to make a design for you and then print it on the garment you want, more on this later.

One important thing to remember is that you will not be able to submit requests that contain copyrighted terms or images, as that is illegal, it doesn’t matter how against trademarks and copyright we are, we will go straight to jail if we sell them to you 🤣🤣🤣. Having said this, we are going to tell you next exactly how you can request a custom design made just for you, let’s go!

how to make a personal request for a custom t-shirt / garment

We have mentioned before that this option is the most complicated one, well, it is out of the three options, but it’s really simple to execute, and we will tell you how now. Here is how to request a custom design for your t-shirt or garment made for you:

If you have visited our store and had a look at the bottom of the page, you may have noticed a Contact Us link where we invite you to request your own design to be made, well, that’s exactly how you do it.

  • You first have to contact us, either our email (orlando@plea.ro), or from our Contact Us page.
  • In the email you sent us, just say that you request a custom design for your t-shirt, you have to submit some information such as what you want exactly for your t-shirt, a photo, a simple idea, a name… you decide.
  • Wait, we will be creating your design very soon and will mail what it would look like back to you.
  • Confirm back to us, if you like the design, we will print it on a t-shirt or the garment you choose, we will tell you the steps to follow so that it can arrive at your place (because we would have to manually create an order).
  • If you would like to and it fits our store, you can accept it being displayed on our store so other people can get that same t-shirt as well (You could also get a prize if your design idea is sold).

Overall, the steps to follow are pretty straightforward, so if you wish a custom design to be made for you, don’t be afraid to ask us to make it, you may even get the exact design that you always wanted!

How To Request A Custom Design For T-Shirts

why do we offer to make personal designs?

You may ask yourself why do we offer to make custom designs for you when you could just tell you to find your way with what we already have in our store, such as our custom t-shirts and the „personalize” option in each product.

Well, the reason is that it doesn’t cost us much effort, while it can make a huge difference for you, having a great personalized design that you know represents you, and that is made by skilled designers using professional software.

That is why it: makes you happy, it doesn’t cost us very much, so why not. No other slow fashion store offers this option so you should take advantage of it if you want to 🙂

does it cost anything to request a custom design?

NO! not at all, custom designs are free to request and do not add any additional costs to the t-shirt or garment you are trying to buy, that holds true for every type of custom t-shirt that we have in our store.

This is a very good offer if you ask anyone, as these types of services if existed in other stores, would cost the customer quite a lot, even if you don’t end up buying anything or not liking the design.

We are not quite sure how long this offer is going to last, probably until we’re fully saturated and cannot make so many designs to satisfy your demands. So take advantage of this before we change anything (although we don’t want to do it unless it is necessary).

Who Are We Actually? How Did PLEA Start?

Who Are We Actually How Did PLEA Start

who are we actually? how did PLEA start?

who are we?

As you may already know, we are a group of young „entrepreneurs” (in the sense that we started a project) but more so a group of friends that wanted to do something to change the world for the better. We all live in Romania, in a region called Transilvania, so English is not necessarily our first language, which explains the weird expressions that we sometimes use when writing this blog. Having said this, here is a closer look at our team:

  • Orlando, the founder of PLEA per se, mainly focuses on customer support and coming up with new ideas.
Giovanny Orlando Giuliano, CEO of PLEA
  • Alessandra, an artist that mainly focuses on the designs and on the web interface that you see right now.
Alessandra Oichia PLEA
  • Miriam, she is an intelligent marketer that focuses on the marketing aspect of the project, such as reaching an audience and getting the website known.
  • Alex (Gabor), he is a computer programmer that fixes technical problems in the website, as well as building it in the first place.

This was a closer look at our team, we have done something similar on our About Us page, so check that out if you are interested. Now let’s discuss how this project started in the first place and then how it became what it is now.

how did PLEA start in the first place?

PLEA actually started as a college project in 2019, we were so invested in this project that everyone began knowing us because of it, so when we actually started this project online, we decided to name it just that.

If you’re wondering, yes, we did get an A+ on the project, but that is not the point of this article. At the time we had a different logo and everything, but we changed it to a more simplistic and cooler one 🙂

Since then quite some time has passed, and that college project turned into a slow fashion project online that spreads awareness about Fast Fashion and its consequences, but, how did this happen? We shall see next.

when did it become a slow fashion project?

It all started when we discovered what Fast Fashion was and its consequences, as well as the movement, called Slow Fashion. We were quite surprised that a problem this big was so unknown because we have never heard of it either in person or online.

So we decided to do something, and in the end, we thought we could take matters into our own hands and offer affordable, cool slow fashion garments with customizable designs and text that people could buy.

Fast forward some time, we arrive here, although small, we are investing a lot of time into this project, especially into our blog, with the mission of spreading awareness and offering affordable slow fashion garments to conscious consumers all over the world.

Sustainable Fashion Brands

what are the future prospects?

We are quite ambitious and have a lot of objectives for the future, some small and realistic, and others big and ambitious. So now we are going to present you with some of our objectives and future prospects for PLEA.

In the short term, we plan to make at least 100 blog posts and open social media accounts that will spread our message even further. We also would want to make some profit so that we could sustain ourselves and dedicate all of our time to this project without having to work overtime to cover our losses (because we’re still in a deficit 🙂 ).

In the long term, however, we want to reach a wide audience of people, and have our message reach people that didn’t know about the problems of Fast Fashion, this is basically our main and most important goal, having a positive effect on this world because this is why PLEA was created in the first place. Our most ambitious goal would be to have enough money to create our own textile fabric, where we could have full control over the sustainable materials and practices used in the garments, that way we can innovate in the sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

Overall, we could say that we are quite ambitious, but to that, we say that dreaming is free, and if you don’t have any goals you might as well not do anything at all. Just the fact that you are reading this right now is a good enough reason to continue with our project.

How Are Our Garments Sustainable?

How Are Our Garments Sustainable

how are our garments sustainable?

what are sustainable garments?

A garment is considered sustainable if it doesn’t leave a carbon footprint when produced, worn, or after it is thrown away. It is usually made from eco-friendly materials such as organic ring-spun cotton or other biodegradable textiles, avoiding synthetics like nylon or polyester.

The sustainability of the garment is also conditioned by the way it was produced, with slower production models and fair trade being much better than the production model that Fast Fashion promotes. Slow Fashion focuses on this aspect of fashion, promoting sustainability in the industry, which is one of the most polluting activities in human history.

Overall, these garments are made with a mission in mind, reducing your carbon footprint and promoting a cleaner and more ethical planet, and that is what Slow Fashion is all about. Now that you know this, we are going to tell you what makes our garments eco-friendly.

on-demand production model

If you have read our other articles you may already be familiar with the term, if not, let us quickly explain it to you. The On-Demand production model is one that produces the garments when a customer orders them, without mass-producing a lot of clothes that may not even be sold and thrown away without even being worn once. This is the ultimate Slow Fashion production model, avoiding storage costs, overproduction, and many more environmental problems.

Well, this is basically the model we work with, and although our production partners have a small stock of items, this stock is just big enough to cover short-term orders, with the greatest respect for the environment and you the customer. When you order an item, the design you chose is directly printed on the item sustainably, which also lets you customize the design or text however you like it!

This is one of the biggest reasons our garments are sustainable, but it’s not the only one, we have many more contingent reasons why the items we offer are ethical and eco-friendly. So we shall review some of them next.

On Demand Production Model Sustainable

our production partners

Our sustainable fashion spirit is also shared with our production partners, the people that make our garments possible in the first place. They produce garments with respect for the environment, their workers, and you, the customer. At the time of this article, they are mainly Gildan and Stanley / Stella.

Gildan makes slow fashion and ethical fashion garments, they are internationally recognized and one of the best things about them is their transparency. Although Gildan wasn’t always like this, they have taken great steps to position themselves as one of the sustainable and affordable garment options. The only thing is that they don’t use organic ring-spun cotton yet, they use regular ring-spun cotton, which is still better than synthetic materials (that they sometimes still use) but not quite 100% sustainable. But this is done to make the garment more affordable, and they focus on the sustainability of their other production processes. You can check their sustainability page here, and their awards and recognitions here.

Stanley / Stella produces garments that especially focus on the environmental aspect, making sustainable, slow, and ethical fashion items. They use 100% organic ring-spun cotton, as well as recycled materials. They are also internationally recognized and awarded for their transparency, sustainability, and ethical treatment of their workers. You can check their sustainability page here, and their awards and recognitions here.

Finally, we have to remark the production partners that help us in printing our designs on these sustainable garments, using environmentally friendly materials and processes that take sustainability in mind. You can read more about this on our About Us page.

packaging & other small details

Finally, there are other small reasons on why our garments are sustainable and eco-friendly, many of them are just small details, but it doesn’t matter how small they are if they contribute to a cleaner planet. Having said this, here are other reasons on why our garments are sustainable:

  • Our packaging is made from recycled materials, it would be a little bit hypocritical to sell 100% eco-friendly garments in non-ecological packaging. That’s why our packaging uses very few materials, and the materials it uses are recycled, minimizing the environmental footprint and reducing the use of resources.
  • We are spreading awareness about Fast Fashion and promoting Slow Fashion, we have an entire blog talking about fashion and why the industry needs to change for the sake of our planet and its workers. This is the biggest action we are taking for sustainability, more transcendental than our own garments because as we always say, no one is going to support Slow Fashion if they don’t even know what it means.
  • Our production partners deliver from many parts of the world, reducing the carbon footprint of shipping. This also reduces the time you will spend waiting for your item to arrive, and the best thing is that our production partners are opening new plants all over the world to improve their shipping and reduce their carbon footprint. We also have to mention that we have free shipping on all of our products, regardless of where you are from!
  • We print designs with the latest sustainable technology, as we said before, all of our production partners have sustainability in mind, and the printing we use on our garments is no exception.

As you have now seen, every detail counts when it comes to sustainability, and we will always try to find new and innovative ways of reducing our carbon footprint in the future.

(NEW) How To Get Money Promoting Slow / Sustainable Fashion? Our Slow Fashion Affiliate Program

Slow Fashion Affiliate Program How To Make Money Promoting Sustainable Fashion

how to get money promoting slow / sustainable fashion? our slow fashion affiliate program

what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing that uses individual marketers who volunteer to promote a good or service in exchange for a commission when a certain condition is met, typically when a sale is completed.

It is one of the oldest and most widespread methods of marketing, and it is pretty effective, as you only have to pay the affiliate when they sell the product, although you have to be careful with fraudulent activities, which may also happen.

For the affiliate, this method of marketing is a great source of income, even passive income, as they can promote it on their blog or social media, and wait for people to buy, making sales even while they’re sleeping.

why do we have an affiliate program?

The main reason is that we are a small project that wants to provide great sustainable fashion garments, customizable t-shirts… but we don’t have the resources to fully market ourselves in order to reach people like you. That is why we are also launching our very own affiliate program where you can participate.

By reaching out to new people, we also want to spread awareness about the problem of Fast Fashion and the importance of sustainable garments in our world, mainly via our blog. This is ultimately our mission, as you may already know.

Overall, an affiliate program is a great way in which you, a conscious fashion consumer, can directly partake in our mission to achieve a sustainable fashion industry, while also making an extra passive income or even a salary out of it! Isn’t that great?

Why Do We Have An Affiliate Program Slow Fashion

benefits of our affiliate program

Our affiliate program will pay you a total of 20% of the value of the item you sell, which means about $6-7, this is quite a lot if you compare it to other fashion affiliate programs, that is because we’re more focused on reaching new people than actually making money, although the latter is needed in order to keep the project running.

You will also benefit from a 90-day cookie policy, which is quite a lot compared to any other affiliate program. What this means is that you will get a commission for every purchase a customer makes in a total of 3 Months!

We will pay you either via PayPal or Bank Transfer, the minimum payout is a low $20, although if you want to adventure in this journey we hope you make a little bit more than that 🙂

You have the page with all the benefits here, or just by clicking the link „Our Affiliate Program” from the footer. Now if you want to know how you can start, just keep reading, we will explain it to you right now.

A closer look at our return policy

A closer look at our return policy

a closer look at our return policy

can i return the product i bought?

Yes! We are very sorry if you had a bad experience with our products and you wish to return them, but if the return is justified, we will give you a full refund for the product you bought, you will have to return it though.

The return request has to be justified, we will explain what that means next, but if you don’t have any malicious intentions when returning the product, you don’t have to worry at all, unfortunately, there are people that want to take advantage of everything and just like to create chaos.

Although we don’t think you will ever need a refund, we have never been asked for a refund until now, but things like factory defects or delivery accidents can happen.

our return policy

If you wish to return a product, the reason has to be justified, this is to prevent people with malicious intentions from doing serious harm to our store and project.

What does it mean to be justified? That something that doesn’t depend on you modified the product in any way that it is now undesirable. For example, a fabric error made the item too small or flawed, or the delivery truck caught on fire and your product cannot arrive anymore (Although that could be the least of the problems).

But a ton of unexpected events can happen, if you want to return the product for any reason, you must contact us requesting a refund, we will work out the best solution that can satisfy and make you happy.

Also, the item must be returned within 14 days of buying it. It is more than enough for you to open the package, wear the t-shirt and even wash it a few times. We will only accept returns within 14 days of the arrival of the product.

Our Return Policy

how to proceed when returning an item

You have to contact us when requesting a return, you will have to provide us with your name, email you used for billing, return justification, and proof if needed.

Once you have contacted us, we will give you an RMA number, you will use this when you ship the product back to us. We will provide you with the directions to follow in the email anyway.

Once we receive the package, we will refund you fully for the product you returned. If you want to know more about the process, visit our Return Policy.

summary

The return process will be discussed by email, as every situation is different. Although we haven’t had any return requests to this date, so we are pretty confident you won’t need one.

We are also very careful with our products so you don’t need to return anything, as it is time-consuming for you and very costly for us, as the items returned cannot be sold back, meaning that some clothing would be produced without being worn anytime.

We hope you have learned a lot today, We’re thrilled to teach people around the world :). Returning An Item

How you can get paid promoting sustainable fashion

How you can get paid promoting sustainable fashion

how you can get paid promoting sustainable fashion

what is an affiliate program?

An affiliate program is a method of marketing that uses individuals who are interested in promoting a product by paying them a commission each time they make a sale or a lead.

These commissions vary a lot, as well as the conditions for the commission to be paid. The commission is usually a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount for every conversion.

Anyone can become an affiliate, and this method of marketing is used in a lot of businesses, from small businesses to big ones like Amazon. Usually, the affiliate has to meet some requirements and undergo manual approval to start promoting the product.

How does the affiliate promote the product? They are usually given a special link, when someone clicks that link and buys something, the affiliate is going to be paid a commission. This can also be done with coupon codes, when someone uses a coupon the affiliate is paid a commission.

why do we have an affiliate program?

There are a variety of reasons that make us have an affiliate program, the most important one is that we have to promote our sustainable products and our mission. We may have a great project and great sustainable clothing, but if no one knows about it, it’s worthless.

An affiliate program is also a fantastic way of inviting people to participate directly in our mission and spread awareness even further, much better than we could ever achieve alone.

Also, affiliate marketing is a great way to work from home and make extra money, or even a salary. So, if we can pay someone’s bills while promoting sustainable fashion in the process, much better.

At the end of the day, it’s a win-win situation, but there are also some inconveniences that we will talk about later.

Why do we have an affiliate program

how you can get paid promoting sustainable fashion

It’s simple, you can join our so-called custom t shirt affiliate program by clicking the „Our Affiliate Program” in our footer at the bottom of our website. Then you just have to register and wait for the approval.

You will be paid a 20% commission on the product you sold, which means $6 for selling our basic t shirt. You will also benefit from a 90-day cookie that guarantees you will earn a commission from your referral for everything they buy in a 3 month period.

Now, if you know anything about affiliate programs this is a pretty high commission and a very long cookie policy. How can we afford this? The thing is we don’t, we take a loss for every product sold with the affiliate program, but we see it as a long time investment, we take a loss but we also promote our sustainable fashion store, and we aim to keep customers so after 3 months we can recover our losses.

We don’t mind taking losses, money is not the goal but the collateral rewards we get promoting sustainable fashion. Obviously, we have to make a profit so we have money to reinvest into the project and spread awareness, if we don’t do that our whole project will fail and we would achieve nothing.

Having said that, we invite you to take part in our affiliate program, helping people financially while growing our project is something that warms our hearts. If you have any doubts, please, don’t hesitate to contact us.

How does our shipping method work?

How does our shipping method work?

how does our shipping method work?

what shipping methods do we use?

Our production partners are responsible for the shipping of our products and we have limited control over it, but we can inform you how exactly shipping is processed and how much it takes for it to arrive.

Our production partners have facilities around the globe and depending on where our customer is, the product is going to be shipped from one facility or another. But they don’t have enough facilities to assure a homogenous shipping time and cost yet.

We just pack the products normally and send them to the post office where they will arrive at their destination. After that, we get a tracking code that is then sent to you by email so you can see in real-time where your product is and when it will arrive.

This also assures the least carbon footprint possible, because the product has to travel much less than if we sent them from one location only.

does shipping cost money?

Of course! But just for us, not for you. We have a free shipping policy on all of our products and we want to keep it that way, one of the reasons for this is no not discourage people living in locations where shipping is more expensive from buying sustainable clothing from our store.

But there is a slight problem with that, shipping is absolutely not free and sometimes it costs a good amount of money. If we pay the shipping entirely, that means the shipping price itself is implicit in the price of the product.

So, if the shipping cost is implicit in the product, why not charge the shipping apart? Well, charging the shipping cost apart is lying about the price, this is because all of our t shirts would be portrayed as costing (for example) $24 but when you went to buy it you would have to pay $5 extra for the shipping. We want to tell you in advance that you will have to pay $29 and nothing else, so you know what to expect.

How expensive shipping really is? It depends on the item, your location, and how many products were bought. Let’s take a t shirt as an example: (we pay in euros for many financial reasons) it costs €3.39 to ship it to the US and €3.69 to ship it to the EU. Although starting from March 8th 2022 costs are going to grow to €3.59 to ship to the US and €3.99 to ship to the EU.

Shipping to the rest of the world is more expensive, especially in „unconventional” countries, where costs can be as high as €11 for shipping. We will have to wait for a more reliable way to ship products worldwide, but it is very unlikely we will have to ship products there, however, if we do, we will have to take a loss, we will not break our policy.

There is a positive aspect of our shipping costs, however, and it is that costs are reduced when more than one product of the same category has been bought. For logistical reasons, the shipping costs for an additional product of the same category are €1.80 for the US and €1.25 for the EU, that is why we offer discounts when you buy more than one product. Other stores just charge you the normal shipping price twice or as many times as items you have bought even if the items are shipped in the same package.

Does shipping cost a lot of money

how long does shipping take?

As always, it depends on the location and the type of product bought. it usually takes between 6-9 days for the product to be delivered, and we are talking about working days, which means Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are not taken into account.

The time shipping takes is shown on the tracking page that will be sent to your email, but from our experience, it always takes less for the product to arrive at its destination. Sometimes the tracking page will say that it will arrive within 16 to 20 days (Which is a lot), but in reality, it will arrive the same week the product was bought.

If the product was bought on Monday it will usually arrive at its destination on Friday, but don’t take our word for it, it may happen to take longer for whatever reason that we cannot control. If your product takes longer than expected do not hesitate to contact us, we will try to help you the best we can.

where do our t shirts come from?

our main t shirt producers

We use a variety of sources for our clothes, which are then sent to our production partners for printing and shipping. We can name Stanley/Stella, SOL’S, Cotton Heritage, and Gildan, although this list may vary.

For now, our main t shirt comes from the producer Gildan, which produces high-quality, environmentally friendly and ethical clothing, which is produced with respect to sustainable fashion’s morals in Bangladesh, Honduras, Haiti, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Gildan does not, however, use 100% organic cotton and 100% ecological materials for their t shirts. They produce sustainable clothing within the limits of its affordable prices. You can learn more about Gildan’s ethical production in their site Genuine Responsibility.

Stanley/Stella comes second on our list and is responsible for the production of our 100% ecological shirts and some of the eco hoodies we offer. They focus on sustainability a lot, their products mainly come from Bangladesh, obviously produced in respect with human dignity, decent working conditions, and decent salary.

They produce clothing that is 100% made from organic or recycled sustainable materials. This exclusive use of sustainable materials makes the item more costly but better for the environment. Here you can check the eco-friendly certificates of Stanley/Stella.

Our third producer is Cotton Heritage, which produces one of our hoodies. The negative part is that it doesn’t use very sustainable materials, it even uses some polyester, but out of all the available options for hoodies, this is the most sustainable one.

Cotton Heritage produces its items in Pakistan, like all of the above, it does so ethically and all of their products are WRAP certificated.

The last one of our producers is SOL’S, they produce our sweatshirts with 100% organic or recycled materials. So this is another producer that not only focuses on sustainability and ethical production but also on ecological materials.

Their clothes are produced in Bangladesh (I don’t need to say it again, but they are using ethical work) and here you can confirm SOL’S eco-friendly certificates.

are clothes from third world countries ethical?

It depends. As well as there are unethical production factories that use modern slavery-like work from third world countries, this can also happen in first world countries. Also, factories can and are using ethical work from developing countries treating them in a human way and paying them a decent job, respecting their needs.

Just because an item of clothing is produced in third-world countries does not mean it uses unethical work. This is something you need to research on your own about the producer of the item, which many times is not the same as the brand that is selling the product, like in our case.

The producer can be found on the tag along with the size and other details of the item of clothing. After that you should do your own research about that brand and decide if it’s trustworthy, we have made it easier for you by presenting with the producers that make our clothes and all the certificates you need to verify their veracity.

Responding to the earlier question, yes, clothes from third world countries can be sustainable and ethical, many times even more than those from first world countries, as ethical apparel from developing countries help them develop economically and take them from poverty. This is what happened in Singapur and South Korea in the 60s and now they are some of the richest and most developed countries in the world.

how to trust sustainable fashion stores

Sustainable fashion is crucial for our society and fast fashion is a growing problem that needs to be resolved to prevent horrible consequences for humanity and the planet. Every person that is in the slow fashion movement helping how they can are literally the superheroes of the planet, and they do this just because they have a kind heart and will not let a problem as big as this one destroy our world.

Having said this not many people even think about faking a sustainable fashion store, because this is something so horrible and greedy satan would be scared of the person who did this. But in this world, there are people for everything, and statistically, there are going to be stores that are faking being sustainable for one reason or another.

With this in mind, you should be able to determine whether a store is truly sustainable or is lying. This can be achieved in a variety of ways. First, research about the origin of their products, do they disclose where the clothes come from? If so, are they telling the truth?

You should also read there about page or other pages of their website or social media. You can tell if they really know what they are talking about if they are interested in the topic or are just here for the money of the fame. Fake stores usually have a vague description of their mission and what is the importance of what they’re doing.

There are many other ways to tell but you should be the one to decide if a store is truly sustainable or if they are lying. Remember to only buy from trusted stores that really produce all their clothing in a sustainable way that aligns with the ethics of slow fashion.
