Are Sustainable Diamonds Real? Sustainable Jewelry

Are Sustainable Diamonds Real Sustainable Jewelry

are sustainable diamonds real? sustainable jewelry

why are diamonds and other jewelry bad?

All of these pretty metals (We know that diamonds are not metals) that look great on your hands, neck, or finger, such as diamonds and other types of jewelry, can have a pretty big and terrible impact on our world, and here is exactly why:

Diamonds and other types of precious metals require mining, and in the case of the former, they require quite an extensive and resource-expensive extraction process that has a massive environmental footprint on our world. The biggest environmental problems with this mining include soil erosion, deforestation, damaging or even collapsing entire ecosystems, pollution of the earth and water…

Not only that, but the mining of these metals also comes with hideous consequences for human life, such as the use of literal slave labor, and kids, as well as using the profits from these mines in order to fund terrorism, wars, or other dreadful organizations. These are called „blood diamonds” and they are a lot more common than you may think at first.

Overall, we can say with certainty that these types of jewelry are absolutely dreadful both for the environment and for human life and dignity, but this does not have to be the case always, as we are going to show you next.

are sustainable diamonds real? what is sustainable jewelry?

We have now reviewed why diamonds and jewelry overall are incredibly harmful not only to the environment but also to our fellow human beings, but we have yet to discuss why this does not always have to be the case.

Regarding diamonds, the ethical and environmentally friendly version of them is one that has been created in a lab or one that has been recycled. It is obvious why this is an ethical product because it does not require mining and can be created with regard to the best practices that care for the environment and the people.

As for other materials, ethical jewelry uses recycled rocks in many cases but also focuses on transparency and traceability of the materials used, in order to assure that no slave labor or unethical practices were used.

Overall, you can see that ethical diamonds and ethical jewelry can exist, and are much much better than their regular counterparts, both for the environment and for our fellow human beings.

Now that you know a little bit more about ethical jewelry, we will tell you a little bit more in detail about how these are made, and what exactly makes them so ethical and environmentally friendly.

Not only the materials used were produced using non-polluting and ethical practices, but also there are other things that go into these ethical jewels, like not using toxic chemicals that are many times used by the industry, or simply providing a more sustainable package together with the product.

There are many other things that determine the sustainability and ethicality of these precious rocks, but we have already mentioned the most important ones that you want to look for the next time you plan to buy a ring or necklace.

where can you buy sustainable / ethical jewelry?

Are Sustainable Products Always More Expensive?

Are Sustainable Products Always More Expensive

are sustainable products always more expensive?

what are sustainable products?

These types of products can be defined as anything that is made with the intent of reducing your carbon footprint and promoting sustainability, respecting the environment and the wonderful planet we live in.

They can include environmentally friendly foods, garments, or any other goods or services that care for the environment, as you may already know, here in this blog we focus on the garment aspect of the equation.

Usually, they appeal to people that are already aware of their carbon footprint and want to become more environmentally friendly, but they can also appeal to other people because of their higher quality or their durability, an example of this are organic cotton garments.

why are sustainable products more expensive?

An issue with these types of products is that they are many times more expensive than their not-so-environmentally friendly counterparts, and we are going to explain why this is the case.

The most important reason to explain why they are more expensive is that they are many times more expensive to make, for example, organic cotton requires more sophisticated methods of production than regular cotton, all of this in order to produce a much higher-quality and environmentally friendly product.

Another reason is that these products appeal to conscious consumers that can justify spending more for a good or service that can lower their carbon footprint, thus increasing the demand for said goods or services and raising the final price that the customer pays.

Overall, these are the fundamental reasons that explain the price difference between regular and sustainable products, but this doesn’t always have to be the case, as we are going to see in a moment.

Why Are Sustainable Products More Expensive

can sustainable products be cheaper?

We have seen why these goods and services that care for the environment are many times more expensive than their not-so-environmentally friendly counterparts, but this is not always the case, and this is how.

To understand this we should focus rather on substitute products rather than similar ones, what does this mean? Well, for example, organic grown plant-based products are usually substitutes and are cheaper than non-organic industrial meats. Or for example, organic cotton garments are cheaper than other branded garments, such as for example Nike or Champion.

But not only that, it could perfectly be the case that the environmentally friendly product could be cheaper than the non-environmentally friendly counterpart, because as we said the price also abides by the supply and demand principle, and it could perfectly be that said good or service is not really demanded for some reason.

The main takeaway from here is that conscious consumer products do not necessarily mean that they will be more expensive, so you should also take advantage of this when considering what to buy to reduce your carbon footprint.

are sustainable products worth the extra price?

Now that you know the price differences with these types of products, you may wonder if they are worth the extra price, well, here is our stand on this:

Yes, absolutely! As any good conscious consumer that wants to reduce their carbon footprint, it is essential to know what to buy in order to achieve that, regardless of price. And considering the terrible consequences that our past actions have had on our world, choosing to be sustainable is crucial for our survival.

Not only that, but you can also become environmentally friendly and choose to live a sustainable lifestyle without spending a lot more money, by simply choosing affordable and low carbon footprint options without needing to stretch your budget too much.

In conclusion, yes, it is worth it, not only that, it’s necessary for the survival of our species and for preserving our world. Also, you don’t necessarily have to spend more in order to become more sustainable, you just have to choose better.

Are Synthetic Fibers Really That Bad?

Are Synthetic Fibers Really That Bad

are synthetic fabrics really that bad? sustainable fashion

what are synthetic fabrics / fibers?

As its name implies, these types of fabrics are synthetic, which means that it is completely made from human-made materials, unlike artificial, which means that it is human-made but it uses at least some natural ingredients.

And what type of fabric could actually fall under this category? well, not many things apart from plastic derivatives and other man-made chemicals, which as you may know it’s not ideal.

The most common types of these fabrics are polyester, which is a plastic derivative, and nylon, which is obtained from a chemical reaction. These are the two fibers that we are going to talk about in this article.

do synthetic fabrics last longer?

As we have seen before, these types of fabrics cannot be found naturally in our world, nor the materials that they’re made from. But, how does this man-made factor influence the durability of the final garment?

Well, you may remember that one of the fabrics that we were going to talk about was polyester, which is a plastic derivative, this means it shares its properties with plastic, and you can already guess that this means it lasts for a long time, which could be a problem as we are going to see next.

As for nylon, this material is also quite long-lasting and strong, similar to polyester, not only that, but nylon is very strong and is quite a bit resistant to moisture absorption and other factors.

Overall, we can say that synthetic fabrics do last quite some time, are strong, and are quite durable, especially in the case of nylon. However, as we are going to see in a moment, these qualities can be pretty bad and the reason to not purchase garments made with these materials.

Do Synthetic Fibers Last Longer

are synthetic fibers that bad?

Because these fabrics are man-made and last a really really long time without decomposing, as they are not biodegradable, there is a big problem that arises with garments made from these materials.

Polyester is a type of plastic that does not decompose and pollutes the earth long-term, especially when polyester fabrics are thrown into landfills, this is especially detrimental to the environment. But this is not the only way that polyester can pollute the earth, when you wash these garments, there is a good chance of it leaving behind many microplastics that can end up in the oceans, you already know all the problems that come with that.

As for nylon, this is a fabric that is treated with many toxic chemicals as well, which not only pollute our planet but can have a negative effect on your skin. not only that, but this material is hard to recycle, and at least with polyester, this problem did not exist. And yes, it does last as long as polyester and does not decompose, polluting the earth in the long term as well.

Apart from the environmental issues, which are already a big reason to ditch synthetic fabrics, there are many other cons of these materials such as the negative effects they might have on your skin, the uncomfortable feeling that they might have on garments, and the fact that they can melt easily or that they stick to your skin when they’re wet.

But not everything is at bad as it seems, as some people swear by synthetic materials because they use much less water than others such as cotton. This is true, but you could also make the argument that water is never wasted, it only goes through cycles and the plants are just intermediaries that turn that water into fruits or other plant-based materials (Although there are situations where water is „wasted”, where it could have been used in other productive processes).

Overall, the final verdict is that you should avoid synthetics, the most contingent reason being that they are not biodegradable and they will have a very long-lasting polluting effect. Now we are going to present you with one great alternative to these materials.

why cotton is a better option

We have presented you with some of the problems that come with these synthetic fibers, but how about natural cotton, is this material better than synthetics or not really? We shall find out.

When we are talking about cotton we have to distinguish between regular and organic cotton. The latter is much better in any way shape or form than the other, especially if we are taking into account the environmental and quality aspects of the equation.

However, we are only going to focus on regular cotton, which is not very environmentally friendly or is it intended to be, just to be fair with synthetic materials. Well, if we do this, we have a material that uses quite a bit of water, that is sometimes treated with chemicals when processed, and that is grown with pesticides and other non-environmentally friendly processes. Still tho, at the end of the day, or the century, cotton is biodegradable, it will decompose if thrown away, ending its carbon footprint quickly. This is not true as we have already seen with synthetics.

Overall, cotton is still better for that fundamental reason, the biodegradability, this is a reason big enough to ditch synthetic fabrics completely. Moreover, if you are already going to choose cotton, choose the organic one, as it brings many more benefits, not only environmental. We invite you to check out our article Why is Organic Cotton different from Regular Cotton, to understand what we are talking about.

Is Ring-Spun Cotton Better Than Regular Cotton Fibers?

Is Ring-Spun Cotton Better Than Regular Cotton Fibers

is ring-spun cotton better than regular cotton fibers?

what is ring-spun cotton?

Ring-spun cotton is made by curving and diminishing the cotton strands to make an extremely fine, solid, delicate rope of cotton, polyester, or a mix of filaments; but if it has cotton in its name you already know what it is made of. Ring-spun textures are stronger and last longer than their standard partners, yet will likewise be more expensive, as well.

It is very soft, it feels like it has been washed multiple times already. Most T-shirts depicted basically as “100 percent cotton” are produced using a more affordable, less refined open-end fabric, offering a great incentive for a fundamental tee. This fiber is smoother and more grounded.

All of these qualities merge together to create this type of fabric, and now we are going to tell you why this type of fiber is different from the regular one. Anyway, we also have a pretty good article explaining a little bit more in detail what is ring-spun cotton fabric, so check it out!

how is ring-spun cotton different from regular cotton?

This type of fabric, as we said before, is made by twisting and thinning the strands of the base product in order to create a very thin and delicate fiber, but the differences do not end there.

Because of the different manufacturing process, Ring-Spun fabrics feel heavier to the touch, and the extra efford to produce such fabric makes it more expensive than regular cotton.

Other than that, there aren’t many other differences, as both of these fabrics are made from the same base material, the only thing that changes is the way these materials are processed and manufactured.

How Is Ring-Spun Cotton Different From Regular Cotton

is ring-spun cotton a high-quality fiber?

Now that you know some of the differences, is this fabric a high-quality one? Well, to answer that question we have to name a few other characteristics that we didn’t name before, such as:

  • It is a more breathable fabric, because of the way the strands are twisted and thinned, making the final garment a lot more breathable and soft.
  • It is more durable and lasts longer, which is a great thing for any garment, especially when we are talking about Sustainable Fashion and sustainability in the industry.
  • It just feels more comfortable overall, the way the fibers are made can provide a wonderful experience with any garment using them, which is also very important when considering clothing choices.

Now that you know the qualities that make Ring-spun cotton a high-quality fabric, we will discuss if it is any better than its regular cotton counterpart, and if it’s worth the extra price.

is ring-spun cotton better than regular cotton?

It depends on what you are searching for, for example, if you are searching for a durable, high-quality, soft fabric then Ring-spun is the choice for you.

However, if you are searching for a simple, cheaper garment then regular cotton is the choice for you, obviously, but are you really searching for a garment like this?

The takeaway is that Ring-Spun cotton is better than regular cotton, and it is worth the extra price, which you get back with the longer-lasting garment that you are buying. However, the cheaper regular cotton fabric makes it so that this one is one of the most common  ones to be used on t-shirts and other garments.

Why Is Organic Cotton That Much More Expensive Than Regular Cotton?

Why Is Organic Cotton That Much More Expensive Than Regular Cotton

why is organic cotton that much more expensive than regular cotton?

what exactly is organic cotton?

Organic cotton is a type of plant fabric that has been grown with sustainability in mind, using more sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods, as well as saving fundamental resources like water in the process.

This type of fabric is made without hurtful synthetic substances and polluting production methods, drastically reducing its carbon footprint, and saving our world from dangerous chemicals that are sometimes used in its production process.

It produces on average 46% less CO2 compared to regular cotton, plus, it uses a lot less water and other resources, with more sophisticated and efficient irrigation techniques that make the most out of every single drop of water.

Overall, this organic version is just like the regular one, except it uses much fewer resources and it takes sustainability into account during the whole process of production.

why is organic cotton more expensive than the regular one?

The main reasons are the growing and manufacturing processes involved with the production and commercialization of this fabric, because of the emphasis on sustainability, and environmentally friendly practices that are associated with this organic fabric.

Things like rotating crops to help the soil and nutrients recover instead of exploiting the same parcel over and over, using much more sophisticated irrigation techniques that avoid water waste, picking the cotton by hand rather than by a machine, and preserving its fibers without damaging them…

In more general terms, the reason for the increased price is due to the use of manual work instead of machinery and growing and manufacturing techniques that are more sophisticated, with the objective of producing a more sustainable and high-quality fabric with respect for the environment.

Why Is Organic Cotton More Expensive Than Regular Cotton

is organic cotton a higher quality fabric?

As we have seen before, this type of organic fiber is made with more care not only for the environment but for the material per se, preserving its long fibers and its softness that will have a clear effect on the final product.

Not only that, but by avoiding the usage of pesticides and other potentially dangerous chemicals in the production process, the end result will be a much cleaner and high-quality fabric that will not have any adverse effects on your skin or the environment.

So yes, organic cotton is a higher quality fabric that will improve the experience you have with the garments you purchase, not only taking into account the environmental part of the equation but also the quality and feel of the fabric in itself.

is organic cotton worth the price?

Not that you know why it is more expensive and how it is of higher quality than other fabrics, the question arises if it is worth the extra price or not. Well, here is our answer:

Yes, it is worth the extra price, mainly because of two things: The environmental impact, by choosing an organic fabric you are choosing to lower your carbon footprint, which is essential in this day and age and considering the enormous harm we have done to this earth. And the higher quality that you get with this organic fabric, which you and your skin will appreciate over the long term.

These are the main reasons why organic cotton is worth the price, but there are many more. We have another article on this subject that you should check out, so be sure to also read How is Organic Cotton different from Regular Cotton.

How Is Organic Cotton Any Different From Regular Cotton

Overall, this organic version is just like the regular one, except it uses much fewer resources and it takes sustainability into account during the whole process of production.

why is organic cotton different from regular cotton?

As we have seen before, this organic version is much more sustainable, eco-friendly and organic (as its name implies) than regular cotton, but the differences do not end there, as we will see now. Having said this, here are some of the most fundamental differences between organic and regular cotton:

  • The organic one is purer, because it is handpicked rather than machine collected, this ensures that its fibers are not damaged at all, remaining soft and intact. Its longer fibers feel a lot softer on the skin and have overall much better quality than regular cotton.
  • It avoids the usage of GMOs, using natural seeds that do not contain genetic modifications. Why can GMOs be bad? you may ask, well, because in many cases GMOs are made to resist insects and other plagues, incentivizing these organisms to become even stronger to be able to attack the crops once again.
  • It ditches pesticides and other chemicals, used to keep pests and weeds away, these chemicals can have a negative effect on your skin, and can greatly affect people with sensitive or allergic skin reactions. That way your skin can be safe once again without worrying about secondary effects.
  • The whole production process is different, from growing the crops to producing industrial fibers, its production is all made with due respect for the environment and the fibers, without using chemicals or other resources that may negatively affect the final product or pollute the environment.

Overall, these are the main differences between these two types of cotton, if you want to learn more in detail about these differences, check Sleep Sherpa’s article on the subject.

Why Is Organic Cotton Different From Regular Cotton

is organic cotton worth it?

Yes! Absolutely! Having reviewed the main differences between these two types of cotton the question of is it worth it arises, but the answer to that question has already been answer at the start of this paragraph, and here is the reason why:

By choosing organic you are choosing sustainability, you are reducing your carbon footprint when you purchase a new garment. This is crucial considering the environmental situation we are living in and the catastrophe that will arise if nothing is done when it needs to be done.

Not only that, but you are also choosing a higher quality fabric that not only feels softer and lasts longer but also cares for your skin without damaging it in any way.

Overall, we can say with certainty that organic cotton is definitely worth it and that it is always better than the regular one. However, this does not mean that you shouldn’t ever buy normal cotton, just that the former is preferred.

is regular cotton still a good sustainable option?

We have seen the reasons why organic is better, but we have also said that you don’t have to ditch regular cotton altogether, so having said that, is it still a somewhat sustainable option or not?

Well, the thing is that it depends. For instance, if compared to synthetic materials like polyester or nylon, it is much preferred for one simple reason, biodegradability, while synthetic substances take hundreds of years to decompose, cotton is still a plant product, which means that it easily biodegrades as any other plant.

Not only that but not all is created equal, it all depends on the producer and the garment per se. For example, ring-spun cotton is a soft and high-quality fabric that has some properties that resemble an organic garment.

Overall, we can say that this is still a good option, just that if you have to choose, always pick the organic one, it is much better for the environment and the experience you will have with your garment.

How Can I Request A Custom Design For My T-Shirt / Garment?

How To Request A Custom Design For My T-Shirt Or Garment

how can i request a custom design for my t-shirt / garment?

what are the ways to request a custom design t-shirt / garment?

There are three main ways that you can order a custom t-shirt, and we will review them in a second. They are not hard to do so don’t worry if technology is not really your strong point. Having said this, here are three of the ways you can request a custom t-shirt or garment:

  1. The simplest way is to go to our Custom section in our store, there you will find many templates with different texts and fonts, even with some graphics that you can change for your own. This one is pretty straightforward and doesn’t need much explanation, so let’s go to the next one.
  2. Another way is to choose any of our articles from our store, you will find a „Personalize” button in each one of them, where you can customize them by submitting your custom design or whatever you want to be printed on said t-shirt or garment.
  3. The third way is the most complicated but best way to request a t-shirt with your custom design on it, basically, you personally request us to make a design for you and then print it on the garment you want, more on this later.

One important thing to remember is that you will not be able to submit requests that contain copyrighted terms or images, as that is illegal, it doesn’t matter how against trademarks and copyright we are, we will go straight to jail if we sell them to you 🤣🤣🤣. Having said this, we are going to tell you next exactly how you can request a custom design made just for you, let’s go!

how to make a personal request for a custom t-shirt / garment

We have mentioned before that this option is the most complicated one, well, it is out of the three options, but it’s really simple to execute, and we will tell you how now. Here is how to request a custom design for your t-shirt or garment made for you:

If you have visited our store and had a look at the bottom of the page, you may have noticed a Contact Us link where we invite you to request your own design to be made, well, that’s exactly how you do it.

  • You first have to contact us, either our email ([email protected]), or from our Contact Us page.
  • In the email you sent us, just say that you request a custom design for your t-shirt, you have to submit some information such as what you want exactly for your t-shirt, a photo, a simple idea, a name… you decide.
  • Wait, we will be creating your design very soon and will mail what it would look like back to you.
  • Confirm back to us, if you like the design, we will print it on a t-shirt or the garment you choose, we will tell you the steps to follow so that it can arrive at your place (because we would have to manually create an order).
  • If you would like to and it fits our store, you can accept it being displayed on our store so other people can get that same t-shirt as well (You could also get a prize if your design idea is sold).

Overall, the steps to follow are pretty straightforward, so if you wish a custom design to be made for you, don’t be afraid to ask us to make it, you may even get the exact design that you always wanted!

why do we offer to make personal designs?

You may ask yourself why do we offer to make custom designs for you when you could just tell you to find your way with what we already have in our store, such as our custom t-shirts and the „personalize” option in each product.

Well, the reason is that it doesn’t cost us much effort, while it can make a huge difference for you, having a great personalized design that you know represents you, and that is made by skilled designers using professional software.

That is why it: makes you happy, it doesn’t cost us very much, so why not. No other slow fashion store offers this option so you should take advantage of it if you want to 🙂

does it cost anything to request a custom design?

NO! not at all, custom designs are free to request and do not add any additional costs to the t-shirt or garment you are trying to buy, that holds true for every type of custom t-shirt that we have in our store.

This is a very good offer if you ask anyone, as these types of services if existed in other stores, would cost the customer quite a lot, even if you don’t end up buying anything or not liking the design.

We are not quite sure how long this offer is going to last, probably until we’re fully saturated and cannot make so many designs to satisfy your demands. So take advantage of this before we change anything (although we don’t want to do it unless it is necessary).

Who Are We Actually? How Did PLEA Start?

Who Are We Actually How Did PLEA Start

who are we actually? how did PLEA start?

who are we?

As you may already know, we are a group of young „entrepreneurs” (in the sense that we started a project) but more so a group of friends that wanted to do something to change the world for the better. We all live in Romania, in a region called Transilvania, so English is not necessarily our first language, which explains the weird expressions that we sometimes use when writing this blog. Having said this, here is a closer look at our team:

  • Orlando, the founder of PLEA per se, mainly focuses on customer support and coming up with new ideas.
Giovanny Orlando Giuliano, CEO of PLEA
  • Alessandra, an artist that mainly focuses on the designs and on the web interface that you see right now.
Alessandra Oichia PLEA
  • Miriam, she is an intelligent marketer that focuses on the marketing aspect of the project, such as reaching an audience and getting the website known.
  • Alex (Gabor), he is a computer programmer that fixes technical problems in the website, as well as building it in the first place.

This was a closer look at our team, we have done something similar on our About Us page, so check that out if you are interested. Now let’s discuss how this project started in the first place and then how it became what it is now.

how did PLEA start in the first place?

PLEA actually started as a college project in 2019, we were so invested in this project that everyone began knowing us because of it, so when we actually started this project online, we decided to name it just that.

If you’re wondering, yes, we did get an A+ on the project, but that is not the point of this article. At the time we had a different logo and everything, but we changed it to a more simplistic and cooler one 🙂

Since then quite some time has passed, and that college project turned into a slow fashion project online that spreads awareness about Fast Fashion and its consequences, but, how did this happen? We shall see next.

when did it become a slow fashion project?

It all started when we discovered what Fast Fashion was and its consequences, as well as the movement, called Slow Fashion. We were quite surprised that a problem this big was so unknown because we have never heard of it either in person or online.

So we decided to do something, and in the end, we thought we could take matters into our own hands and offer affordable, cool slow fashion garments with customizable designs and text that people could buy.

Fast forward some time, we arrive here, although small, we are investing a lot of time into this project, especially into our blog, with the mission of spreading awareness and offering affordable slow fashion garments to conscious consumers all over the world.

Sustainable Fashion Brands

what are the future prospects?

We are quite ambitious and have a lot of objectives for the future, some small and realistic, and others big and ambitious. So now we are going to present you with some of our objectives and future prospects for PLEA.

In the short term, we plan to make at least 100 blog posts and open social media accounts that will spread our message even further. We also would want to make some profit so that we could sustain ourselves and dedicate all of our time to this project without having to work overtime to cover our losses (because we’re still in a deficit 🙂 ).

In the long term, however, we want to reach a wide audience of people, and have our message reach people that didn’t know about the problems of Fast Fashion, this is basically our main and most important goal, having a positive effect on this world because this is why PLEA was created in the first place. Our most ambitious goal would be to have enough money to create our own textile fabric, where we could have full control over the sustainable materials and practices used in the garments, that way we can innovate in the sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

Overall, we could say that we are quite ambitious, but to that, we say that dreaming is free, and if you don’t have any goals you might as well not do anything at all. Just the fact that you are reading this right now is a good enough reason to continue with our project.

How Are Our Garments Sustainable?

How Are Our Garments Sustainable

how are our garments sustainable?

what are sustainable garments?

A garment is considered sustainable if it doesn’t leave a carbon footprint when produced, worn, or after it is thrown away. It is usually made from eco-friendly materials such as organic ring-spun cotton or other biodegradable textiles, avoiding synthetics like nylon or polyester.

The sustainability of the garment is also conditioned by the way it was produced, with slower production models and fair trade being much better than the production model that Fast Fashion promotes. Slow Fashion focuses on this aspect of fashion, promoting sustainability in the industry, which is one of the most polluting activities in human history.

Overall, these garments are made with a mission in mind, reducing your carbon footprint and promoting a cleaner and more ethical planet, and that is what Slow Fashion is all about. Now that you know this, we are going to tell you what makes our garments eco-friendly.

on-demand production model

If you have read our other articles you may already be familiar with the term, if not, let us quickly explain it to you. The On-Demand production model is one that produces the garments when a customer orders them, without mass-producing a lot of clothes that may not even be sold and thrown away without even being worn once. This is the ultimate Slow Fashion production model, avoiding storage costs, overproduction, and many more environmental problems.

Well, this is basically the model we work with, and although our production partners have a small stock of items, this stock is just big enough to cover short-term orders, with the greatest respect for the environment and you the customer. When you order an item, the design you chose is directly printed on the item sustainably, which also lets you customize the design or text however you like it!

This is one of the biggest reasons our garments are sustainable, but it’s not the only one, we have many more contingent reasons why the items we offer are ethical and eco-friendly. So we shall review some of them next.

On Demand Production Model Sustainable

our production partners

Our sustainable fashion spirit is also shared with our production partners, the people that make our garments possible in the first place. They produce garments with respect for the environment, their workers, and you, the customer. At the time of this article, they are mainly Gildan and Stanley / Stella.

Gildan makes slow fashion and ethical fashion garments, they are internationally recognized and one of the best things about them is their transparency. Although Gildan wasn’t always like this, they have taken great steps to position themselves as one of the sustainable and affordable garment options. The only thing is that they don’t use organic ring-spun cotton yet, they use regular ring-spun cotton, which is still better than synthetic materials (that they sometimes still use) but not quite 100% sustainable. But this is done to make the garment more affordable, and they focus on the sustainability of their other production processes. You can check their sustainability page here, and their awards and recognitions here.

Stanley / Stella produces garments that especially focus on the environmental aspect, making sustainable, slow, and ethical fashion items. They use 100% organic ring-spun cotton, as well as recycled materials. They are also internationally recognized and awarded for their transparency, sustainability, and ethical treatment of their workers. You can check their sustainability page here, and their awards and recognitions here.

Finally, we have to remark the production partners that help us in printing our designs on these sustainable garments, using environmentally friendly materials and processes that take sustainability in mind. You can read more about this on our About Us page.

packaging & other small details

Finally, there are other small reasons on why our garments are sustainable and eco-friendly, many of them are just small details, but it doesn’t matter how small they are if they contribute to a cleaner planet. Having said this, here are other reasons on why our garments are sustainable:

  • Our packaging is made from recycled materials, it would be a little bit hypocritical to sell 100% eco-friendly garments in non-ecological packaging. That’s why our packaging uses very few materials, and the materials it uses are recycled, minimizing the environmental footprint and reducing the use of resources.
  • We are spreading awareness about Fast Fashion and promoting Slow Fashion, we have an entire blog talking about fashion and why the industry needs to change for the sake of our planet and its workers. This is the biggest action we are taking for sustainability, more transcendental than our own garments because as we always say, no one is going to support Slow Fashion if they don’t even know what it means.
  • Our production partners deliver from many parts of the world, reducing the carbon footprint of shipping. This also reduces the time you will spend waiting for your item to arrive, and the best thing is that our production partners are opening new plants all over the world to improve their shipping and reduce their carbon footprint. We also have to mention that we have free shipping on all of our products, regardless of where you are from!
  • We print designs with the latest sustainable technology, as we said before, all of our production partners have sustainability in mind, and the printing we use on our garments is no exception.

As you have now seen, every detail counts when it comes to sustainability, and we will always try to find new and innovative ways of reducing our carbon footprint in the future.

(NEW) How To Get Money Promoting Slow / Sustainable Fashion? Our Slow Fashion Affiliate Program

Slow Fashion Affiliate Program How To Make Money Promoting Sustainable Fashion

how to get money promoting slow / sustainable fashion? our slow fashion affiliate program

what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing that uses individual marketers who volunteer to promote a good or service in exchange for a commission when a certain condition is met, typically when a sale is completed.

It is one of the oldest and most widespread methods of marketing, and it is pretty effective, as you only have to pay the affiliate when they sell the product, although you have to be careful with fraudulent activities, which may also happen.

For the affiliate, this method of marketing is a great source of income, even passive income, as they can promote it on their blog or social media, and wait for people to buy, making sales even while they’re sleeping.

why do we have an affiliate program?

The main reason is that we are a small project that wants to provide great sustainable fashion garments, customizable t-shirts… but we don’t have the resources to fully market ourselves in order to reach people like you. That is why we are also launching our very own affiliate program where you can participate.

By reaching out to new people, we also want to spread awareness about the problem of Fast Fashion and the importance of sustainable garments in our world, mainly via our blog. This is ultimately our mission, as you may already know.

Overall, an affiliate program is a great way in which you, a conscious fashion consumer, can directly partake in our mission to achieve a sustainable fashion industry, while also making an extra passive income or even a salary out of it! Isn’t that great?

Why Do We Have An Affiliate Program Slow Fashion

benefits of our affiliate program

Our affiliate program will pay you a total of 20% of the value of the item you sell, which means about $6-7, this is quite a lot if you compare it to other fashion affiliate programs, that is because we’re more focused on reaching new people than actually making money, although the latter is needed in order to keep the project running.

You will also benefit from a 90-day cookie policy, which is quite a lot compared to any other affiliate program. What this means is that you will get a commission for every purchase a customer makes in a total of 3 Months!

We will pay you either via PayPal or Bank Transfer, the minimum payout is a low $20, although if you want to adventure in this journey we hope you make a little bit more than that 🙂

You have the page with all the benefits here, or just by clicking the link „Our Affiliate Program” from the footer. Now if you want to know how you can start, just keep reading, we will explain it to you right now.
